Hi there and welcome to this tiny spec of internet! This is a space I want to use to - put very vaguely - house my wooly thoughts on various topics, strung together with a red thread of feminism, film, and the concept of female rage. Though small deviations and sidetracks are bound to occur as well. I can imagine that the words 'female rage' are igniting all sorts of ideas and perhaps anxieties in you. It sounds quite intense, no? I suppose that is the exact reason I find the topic so fascinating. What is it about the term that evokes such reactions? How is it portrayed in media? And how can we place that in a larger societal context? These are just some of the questions that have been bouncing around in my head enough to want to create an outlet for them.

A little about me then. My name is Tamar. I'm a visual anthropologist, great admirer of music with an affinity for writing. I spent some time working at my trusted university after my studies, and am now taking time to work on creative projects such as these and to do some soul searching while I'm at it. I'm in my mid-twenties after all - it seems only fitting. I will soon be setting off to Barcelona, Spain to spend a few months there making an (auto)ethnographic film on a topic you may have been able to guess. This blog will be an exciting venture in the meantime, to track my endless internet rabbit holes and other inquisitions I may find myself in while moving through the filmmaking process. Or really, to write about anything I damn well please :)

And because I have a passion for making playlists, I'll include a song recommendation here and there, starting with the song at the top of my female rage playlist. But to see the fire in Stevie Nicks' eyes in full effect, watch this live performance.
